Onion drying process

1. Clean the onion

3. Drying

  • Temperature: Generally, the water content of vegetables is relatively high. So it is necessary to set nonlow temperature hot air constant temperature drying. The high temperature will destroy the nutritional value of vegetables. The drying temperature of onion shall not exceed 50 ℃, and the dehumidification rate shall reach more than 20% during drying. The drying can be carried out in several stages. In the beginning, the temperature is set at 50~40 ℃, then 40~30 ℃, and finally drops to about 35 ℃.
  • Drying time: the drying cycle of a batch of onions is about 15 hours. Quick-drying destroys the quality of onions.
  • Humidity: there are certain sugars in the water of vegetables, so it is difficult to dehydrate. Therefore, it is crucial to control the dehydration rate.

  2. Drying room: polyurethane foam insulation warehouse. The drying room is used to place materials and keep warm to avoid heat loss.

  4. Moisture removal and drainage system: condense the hot and humid air in the curing house into the water and discharge the excess water vapor through the fan.
