Methods of air drying flowers
Dried by flower dryer
Using a flower dryer to dry flowers is a new method. It is characterized by short time and no need to borrow other tools. This drying method is suitable for drying herbs, daisies, roses, marigolds, etc. There are also some grasses such as bulrush, thistle, papyrus, etc.
Air drying
Air drying is the simplest and most commonly used method for making dried flowers. The drying method is to choose a warm, dry, and well-ventilated room. The indoor temperature shall not be lower than 10 ℃. Then find a well-ventilated cabinet and a drying room with heating facilities. Flowers have decorative value in the drying process. You might consider taking the bedroom and dining room as places for air drying.
Flower drying process
Let’s take the Bawang flower as an example to see the drying process of the Bawang flower.
- Initial drying stage:
Place the picked and arranged flowers on the material frame. On the premise that the initial drying room temperature is raised to 55 ℃, flowers can be pushed into the drying room. The dry bulb is set at 55 ℃, and the wet bulb is set at 38 ℃ for 4-6 hours at room temperature. The softening period lasts 4-6 hours. - Stage II drying setting
The temperature in the flower drying room gradually increased from 55 ℃ to 60 ℃ for the dry bulbs. The wet bulb temperature rises from 38 ℃ to 42 ℃. The lifting time of the temperature difference shall be controlled within 2 hours and shall not exceed the temperature range of 60 ℃. After 9-12 hours of initial, moderate drying and strong moisture removal, the flower of Bawang basically reached 70% drying. - Third-stage drying setting
The bulb temperature is controlled for 4-6 hours by the heating stage of 55-60 ℃. The wet bulb temperature at this stage is set at 46 ℃ to facilitate temperature rise. After the third stage, the flowers basically reached 89% dry. - Stage IV drying process
The temperature range is 75 ℃ for the dry bulb and 50 ℃ for the wet bulbs. This stage is a forced drying period, and the temperature shall not exceed 80 ℃. After 2-4 hours of forced drying, the water content of the Bawang flower is about 12%. Observe the baking and color of the Bawang flower through the observation hole, and then stop heating and discharge. The advantage of the flower drying machine lies in its intelligent temperature control and automatic moisture removal.
Drying time of flowers
The drying time of flowers is generally 18-20 hours. The maximum time can reach more than 30 hours, which is related to the thickness of the paving in the drying tray and the moisture content of the flowers.
Structure of flower dryer
The flower dehydrator machine system consists of a heat pump dryer to heat and dehumidify the unit, insulation box components, hot air circulation components, and intelligent control components.
